01

Product and usage

How do I use KYLA Performance during training?

Pre-cool KYLA Performance in your refrigerator overnight, or for a minimum of three hours before training. Bring it to the gym in the dust bag. Hold one in each palm between efforts: between sets, between intervals, between rounds. Most athletes feel an effect within thirty seconds. Use for the full rest period if you want a deeper reset, or shorter if you prefer.

How do I prepare it before training?

Place KYLA Performance in the refrigerator the night before, or a minimum of three hours before use. The freezer is not needed and is not recommended. Once pre-cooled, a unit stays effective for up to six hours in the dust bag, so you can bring it from home to the gym without refrigeration on site.

How long does a single pre-cool last during a session?

A fully pre-cooled unit delivers 35 to 40 minutes of effective heat extraction during active use, depending on training intensity. Across a two-hour session, that works out to roughly twenty minutes of use per hour, which is typically enough to cover the rest periods between efforts.

How long does it stay cold between sessions?

Up to six hours when stored in the dust bag at room temperature, not in active use. That is the window between leaving home and starting training. For sessions longer than six hours from your last cool, refrigerate on site if possible.

How long should I hold it between efforts?

Most athletes notice an effect within thirty seconds. For a more complete reset, hold for up to two minutes. Adjust based on how warm you feel and how long your rest period is.

Can I use ice packs instead?

No, and the reason is physiological. Holding something very cold causes blood vessels in your palms to constrict, which reduces blood flow to the surface and slows heat release from the body. KYLA Performance is engineered to hold a temperature in the optimal zone, between 13 and 15°C: cold enough to extract heat continuously, warm enough to keep blood flowing. The goal is not maximum cold. It is maximum heat transfer.

Is this just holding something cold?

No. Heat transfer depends on the conductivity of the material in contact with your skin, not temperature alone. A low-conductivity object, even when very cold, moves heat slowly. KYLA Performance is engineered for high heat transfer rate, so heat moves out of the body rapidly during contact. The internal construction is patent pending.

Can everyone use KYLA Performance?

KYLA Performance works with the body's natural heat release system. Most people can use it without any issues. If you have a condition that affects circulation or sensitivity in your hands, check with a healthcare professional before use. Avoid use on injured, numb, or broken skin.

Can it be harmful in any way?

KYLA Performance works with the body's own thermoregulation system. It supports a natural process rather than overriding it. It is difficult to overuse: the body regulates its temperature and responds only as needed. Avoid use on injured, numb, or broken skin.

02

Science and effect

How does KYLA Performance actually work?

During training, heat builds in your working muscles and core. As internal temperature rises, your body shifts capacity from output to heat management, and performance starts to drop before you feel it.

KYLA Performance is used during rest periods between efforts. Held in the palm, it draws heat out of the body through the palms, which contain a dense network of specialised vessels designed specifically for releasing heat. Core temperature stays steadier across the session. Output holds longer across repeated efforts. See the methodology page for what we have measured.

Who is KYLA Performance for?

Athletes who train with repeated high-intensity efforts. HYROX, strength training, intervals, functional fitness, running, cycling, rowing. Anywhere heat builds across a session and rest periods exist between efforts. The harder the session, the more measurable the effect.

When will I notice an effect?

Most athletes notice a felt difference within thirty seconds of contact. Across a session, the effect compounds: heart-rate recovery is deeper between efforts, perceived effort drops at matched workload, and output holds more consistently across repeated rounds. See the methodology page for measured results.
