Once I understood how much temperature has shaped what humans can do, I could not stop reading about it.

We have spent trillions of dollars on cooling. Phones, laptops, cars, nuclear plants, data halls. We cool everything we build. Then we forgot that the body obeys the same thermodynamics, and that nobody was building for it.

So I started building for it.

Athlete in control of the rest before the next effort

Why KYLA exists.

Most athletes train hard. Almost none of them know that part of what ends the session is temperature.

Heat builds faster than the body can shed it, and the cost lands at the end, in the efforts that were the point of turning up.

Between the last effort and the next is the only moment you can do anything about it. KYLA was built for that moment.

KYLA Performance held in your palms

What it is.

A temperature-regulating tool you hold in your palms.

Pre-cooled before training. Held between efforts. Sized to fit, light enough to carry, built to be used across an entire session.

The body does the rest.

Athlete training with KYLA between efforts

The moment has always existed.

Athletes have simply never had a tool built specifically for it.

Not rest after training. Rest inside training.

Part of the answer is thermal. The tool is physical. The result is an athlete who arrives at the next effort with less heat, more control, and clearer intention.

Athlete resting between efforts before the next round

Where we start. Not where we end.

KYLA Performance is the first product.

Behind it sits a longer ambition.

Temperature regulation is one of the most overlooked areas in human health. We start with athletes, in the moment between efforts, because that is where the effect is most measurable today.

Pre-launch athletes are already using it.

It is not where we stop.

KYLA Performance, designed in Stockholm, built in Germany

Designed in Sweden. Made in Germany.

Swedish scientists for the underlying physics. Close production partners in Turkey for specialised parts. Final assembly in Germany, where the precision held the line.

More than forty complete builds. Fifteen factories tested for parts most people will never see. Almost every component inside is bespoke. From the metals and polymers to the phase-change materials at the core, most are being used in ways nobody had tried before. Each behaves differently under heat and cold. Each demanded its own development. Every detail decided deliberately, then tested, then often decided again.

Kyla is the Swedish word for cold. It is not a metaphor, and it is the one part of this that did not have to be engineered.

FORTY PROTOTYPES. ONE ANSWER.

I build hard things. Software, hardware, companies. Some worked. Some failed. I learned to treat every failure as one step closer.

After my last venture ended, I went back to my body. Running, outside, in the Swedish winter. One cold morning I remembered a study on how the body releases heat through the palms. I cut open my gloves so my palms could meet the air. It worked just enough to make the question stick: if this is real, where is the tool?

The tools I found were not effective enough. So I took on another hard task. Thermodynamics, physics, and a product that actually moves heat out of the body.

For twelve months I hit the same wall every other cooling product hits. The same effect, the same ceiling, prototype after prototype. More than forty of them. Then one day a prototype moved several times more heat than anything we had built before, and the result held when we measured it again. That something is now our patent-pending technology, and the reason KYLA exists.

The first 100 pairs are the Founders Edition, shipped on 1 September 2026 to the athletes who helped build it. The First Run is the first public batch. It ships October 2026, to the people who reserve. We launch the way I prototype: small, careful, measured.
